Things To See and Do

SHOPPING:

To pick up supplies for your picnic hamper, shop for dinner, or taste amazing local Tasmanian produce and boutique wines, visit Sandy Bay’s famous Lipscombe Larder which is situated close to the Chalet, at 527 Sandy Bay Road Sandy Bay (03) 6225 1135. There are also both Woolworths and Coles Supermarkets in Sandy Bay, and the Foodstore in King Street. For fresh bread visit the famous German Bakery, The Brezel Bäckerei  in the village.

Browse around the various shops down in Sandy Bay Village. But don’t forget to visit Salamanca Market for a fantastic day out.

Sandy Bay Chalet is endeavouring to link to other boutique companies providing Tasmanian produce and local businesses making gourmet food. We will keep you posted on who they are and the produce they are offering..

VISIT OUR FRIENDS AT THE BAY OF FIRES:

  • Don’t miss the chance to drive up along the East Coast of Tasmania – it is very beautiful – and after the drive we would recommend you visit Michelle at ALOHA DREAMING  and enjoy a fabulous Lomi Lomi Massage. Michelle lives right at Binalong Bay.
  • And for the best views on the East Coast, you can’t beat a stay at SEA EAGLE COTTAGE. They can be contacted via their website – or phone Jan on 0407808738. The cottage is very popular so we would suggest you book before you leave if you want to stay there.
